Cassel’s capabilities amplify TASI Packaging Integrity Group’s customer-focused mission to help ensure packaging quality, protecting end-users worldwide

TASI Group (www.tasigroup.com) and Cassel Messtechnik GmbH (Cassel) (www.cassel-inspection.com) announce their strategic alliance, as TASI Group acquires Cassel, eﬀective January 31, 2020. The acquisition will enable the Packaging Integrity segment of TASI Group – which includes ALPS Inspection, Sepha, and Bonfiglioli Engineering – to further expand its global reach in product inspection and packaging integrity and reinforce their mission to help customers ensure the highest quality in product manufacturing.
Cassel is a leader in the design and construction of metal detection and x-ray inspection systems for industrial applications. With over 60 employees located near Hannover, Germany, Cassel provides manufacturers with the testing equipment necessary for quality control and ensuring the safety of consumer goods. Cord Cassel, who founded the company over 25 years ago says, “Cassel has experienced strong growth and was looking for the right strategic partner to help take the business to the next level. I feel confident that an alliance with TASI will not only reinforce our current position but will help strengthen and grow our presence in our key industries.”

Innomatec will be organized in the TASI Product Integrity Segment, which includes Cincinnati Test Systems (CTS), CTS-Schreiner, Sciemetric, and Sierra CP. This addition will geographically expand the reach of the Division’s leak test business into Europe and enable it to deliver an unmatched combination of technology and expertise to the global market.
CTS-Schreiner will be organized under Innomatec, providing sales, service, and manufacturing resources for Southern Europe from Munich. Mike Schillings, previously the managing director of Innomatec will continue as Managing Director Global of the combined entity. In this role, he will work to expand the core competencies and market reach of the Innomatec team in the areas of special test equipment, development, and production of quick-connector systems and measuring instruments, and automation.

The TASI Group continues the growth of its Flow Segment business with the recent acquisition of Sierra Instruments, a global company specializing in the manufacture of flow measurement instrumentation. This is the 2nd acquisition finalized by The TASI Group in just two months.
Offering flow and test solutions to international markets, Sierra Instruments is comprised of two divisions: FLOW, headquartered in Monterey, California and AUTO, headquartered in Malvern, United Kingdom. The FLOW Division manufactures mass flow meters and flow controllers for gas, liquid, or steam application. The AUTO Division builds complex, custom, integrated test facilities and world-class engine and vehicle test automation systems.

The TASI Group recently acquired ONICON, a private company specializing in the design and manufacture of flow meters and energy measurement systems. ONICON addresses liquid flow, steam flow, natural gas flow, airflow, and thermal energy applications with a broad range of flow meter technologies, including electromagnetic, turbine, ultrasonic, thermal mass, vortex, Pitot tube and BTU meters.
